The making of a super-sonic year at the U of S

Well, there don’t appear to be any signs of a slow down this year, at least not as far as clinician performed ultrasound goes. The big highlight has to be our success with securing funding for Qpath! This is a wireless image archiving unit (think internal PACS) that is also, and just as importantly, a super sophisticated training suite. Trainees will be able to upload their images onto their accounts and send them to their instructors (via secure server) for review and sign off! Check out this short 4 minute video from Vanderbilt EM (https://vimeo.com/83708223) A huge thanks goes out to the RUH foundation for their support! This year’s Bev Leech Conference (Anesthesia conference April 25th) will include a substantial PoCUS segment focusing on resuscitative and peri-operative PoCUS. Of course, no update would be complete without mention of the exciting PoCUS courses coming to Saskatoon this year. We are hosting the EDE2 Course (April 16th and 17th) to a team of 20 docs from throughout Saskatchewan. Next up, we just confirmed that EGLS is coming to Saskatoon this fall (looks like Oct 17 and 18) Stay tuned! Cheers, Paul Olszynski, MD, MEd, CCFP (EM)
